End-to-End Payment Tracking: How Reditus Tracks Revenue and Commissions
Reditus tracks the whole path from the first affiliate click to the commission payout. Both the SaaS company and the affiliate see the same numbers, which is what keeps commission disputes rare.
The tracking flow, click to payout
- Click tracking. When a visitor clicks an affiliate link, Reditus records the click and sets a tracking cookie. The cookie persists for a configurable duration, typically 30 to 90 days, so the affiliate still gets credit if the visitor does not sign up right away.
- Signup attribution. When the visitor signs up for your product, the Reditus tracking script matches the signup to the stored cookie and attributes it to the correct affiliate. The referral then appears in both the SaaS company's dashboard and the affiliate's portal.
- Trial-to-paid conversion. When the referred user converts to a paid subscription, Reditus detects it through your Stripe integration. The system records plan, amount, billing cycle, and start date, which triggers the first commission calculation.
- Ongoing revenue tracking. For recurring commissions, Reditus keeps tracking every payment on the subscription. Upgrades increase the commission base, downgrades reduce it, and cancellations end commission accrual, all handled automatically through the Stripe integration.
- Commission calculation. Reditus applies your program rules to each payment: the commission percentage, any qualification period (hold time before commissions become payable), and tier-based rates if you use a tiered structure.
- Payout. Once an affiliate's earned commissions exceed your payout threshold and the qualification period has passed, the commission becomes payable. On the Growth plan and above, Reditus can process payouts automatically. On lower plans, you process them manually through the dashboard.
What each side sees
SaaS company dashboard
You see every referred customer, their subscription status, revenue generated, commissions owed, and payout history. Filters cover affiliate, date range, plan type, and status.
Affiliate portal
Affiliates see their clicks, signups, conversions, active subscriptions, earned commissions, and payment history. That transparency builds trust and cuts down support questions about how a commission was calculated.
Edge cases
Refunds
If a customer receives a refund, the matching commission is adjusted automatically. Partial refunds reduce the commission proportionally, and full refunds reverse it entirely.
Plan changes
Upgrades and downgrades are tracked in real time. If a referred customer moves from $50/month to $100/month, the affiliate's commission adjusts from the next billing cycle.
